Underpinning Contract

An Underpinning Contract or UC is a contract made between the IT Service provider and a third party supplier. The third party supplies services or goods necessary to deliver the IT Service, and the UC defines targets and responsibilities required for the IT Service provider to meet its Service Level Targets as defined in the SLAs. To the third party supplier the contract is viewed as an SLA.
