Contents

Purpose

To introduce the inevitable changes to a project's scope and specification in a controlled fashion, after careful analysis of impact, criticalness and cost.

Description

Every Project must have a method to manage Change. The Project Manager is responsible for the Change Control Technique. An RfC is a Project Issue and Change Control technique should be applied to all Project Issues. All Changes are risks, therefore the Business Case, Product Description and product dependencies should be updated, and approval from the Project Board received before proceeding.

Usage

  1. New RfC is sent. Treat as project issue. Update Issue Log.
  2. Check issue for priority and impact analysis affecting the BUS. Update Issue Log.
  3. If issue is within Tolerance defined by Project Board, the Project Manager can use corrective action. Update Issue Log. Feedback to author.
  4. If issue is not within Tolerance defined by Project Board, the Project Manager can send an Exception Report to the the Project Board. Feedback to author.
  5. If a product is to be changed, check Product Descriptions.
