Purpose

The purpose of this sub-process is to appoint someone with the authority to make decisions, and someone to take care of the project on a day-to-day basis.

Trigger

This sub-process is the first in the Starting Up a Project-process. It is triggered by a Project Mandate.

Product

Completing SU1 will generate the following outputs:

Critical success factors (CSF)

  • Commitment from Top Management
  • Availability of the appointed resources

Key performance indicators (KPI)

  • Time spent on the process compared to estimated time on the project itself. Small projects should spend little time here.
