Purpose
The purpose of this sub-process is to appoint someone with the authority to make decisions, and someone to take care of the project on a day-to-day basis.
Trigger
This sub-process is the first in the Starting Up a Project-process. It is triggered by a Project Mandate.
Product
Completing SU1 will generate the following outputs:
- Agreed job descriptions for Project Manager and Project Executive
- Appointed and committed Project Manager
- Appointed and committed Project Executive
Critical success factors (CSF)
- Commitment from Top Management
- Availability of the appointed resources
Key performance indicators (KPI)
- Time spent on the process compared to estimated time on the project itself. Small projects should spend little time here.
