The Service Knowledge Management System or SKMS is an umbrella term for the combination of all systems that support the DIKW-model in Service Knowledge Management. Within the SKMS all information needed to manage the full Life cycle of the IT Services are stored, managed, updated and presented.
The SKMS is used by all parts of the IT organisation.
The SKMS includes:
- Configuration Management System
- Known Error Database
- Definitive Media Library
- Staff information, such as LDAP
- Records of peripheral matters
- Staff experience
- Other useful information
