The Configuration Management System or CMS is an umbrella term for the tools and databases used to manage the configuration data of the IT Service provider. It includes tools for collecting, storing, managing and updating information about all Configuration Items and their relationships. The CMS is maintained by Service Assets and Configuration Management.
