Closing a Project (CP)
Purpose & Description
- This process ensures a controlled end of a project
- This process is normally triggered by CS, but it can also be triggered by DP
- The Project Manager cannot trigger the process without direct approval from the Project Board
Objectives
- To assure the Project Board that the objectives of the project have been met, as according to the Project Brief
- To provide and deliver relevant documentation
- To plan for post-project reviews
- To archive project files as appropriate

- End Project Report
- Lessons Learned Report
- Follow-on Action Recommendations
- Post-Project Review Plan
Hints and Tips
- Document as appropriate to the project
- Make sure the Project Documentation, particularly the Lessons Learned Report, is easily available for future projects
